somewhat off-topic, but has anyone here been hit by the AMT to the point of making their cap gains carryover losses totally wiped out? I am afraid I have fallen in that category for 2005.

My AMT ends up being *twice* what the regular tax tables indicate because to calculate it they put back real-estate taxes, ignore capital gains carryover losses (of which I had plenty), and limit the mortgage deductions. Freaking unbelievable.

I am still hoping for a bug in Turbo Tax ... yeah, right.
