That would be like a slap on the wrist in my opinion.
When sentenced by Judge Dearie, ELGINDY faces a maximum sentence of five years imprisonment on each of two counts of making false statements to federal officials, an additional ten years imprisonment for committing these crimes while on pre-trial release, a fine of $250,000 on each count, and three years of supervised release.

The above doesn't even address the five counts of securities fraud, a count of racketeering conspiracy, a count of securities fraud conspiracy, a count of extortion, a count of extortion conspiracy, and two counts of wire fraud that he was convicted of.
