I think, actually I know, any group of people that climb the dirty political ladder to attain leadership of any society does it, not in the name of the "greater good" for the masses but for their OWN greater good.. Not unlike climbing up the corporate ladder..

Like Bush said the other day, "MY government" NOT OUR government.. Bush views "HIS government" like "HIS company" and he can do whatever he wants with it.. Rape and sap it like Kenny boy at Enron, like Bernie Evers at World Com, Kowlowski at Tyco,etc..... Take what you get while the getting is good.. And hope like hell you don't get caught at it for awhile anyway and BURY it along the way.... So when you get OUT, you have a good stake.

So ANYONE that wants to be a politician.. SHOULDN'T BE...

For a truly citizen government, it should be like the jury system, one is called, one can opt out if they don't want to serve. If they want to serve, they must pass a a basic civics test.. Serve for two year terms, maximum 8 years in all, staggered to teach newbies as they come in.. Elections if more than one more person vying for the same seat.. Paid for BY TAX dollars.. No independent financing.. And up the number of Representatives by three times at least...... No Senators..

A truly citizen's government.. I have more details but I also have time constraints. :)..
