I didn't see your post until just now.

The first thing that crossed my mind when reading it is that it sounds like (if I've got my decoder ring set correctly) you're suggesting I put myself and the software through additional programmatic hurdles that, if they accomplish anything, sure wouldn't be along the lines of making searches easier for the equipment to perform.

If a full-text search is done on the current year search table, no amount of limitations on the output reduce the cost of the search.
