Peter, It is a sad day, when the government has the power to dictate to corporations, and other businesses. Of course, some corporations need to be held accountable to the people of America, but that does not include fattening the federal, or state, coffers.

America is a democracy, not a socialistic nation. The corporations are owned by the stock holders, not the politicians. This thing looks like a scam by the government to gain funds that they have squandered themselves. If Wal-Mart was so bad, people would not seek jobs in those stores. All the efforts of Hubbard etal. are nothing but stealing the profits of a corporation that has built itself up in the eyes of consumers, and reaped large profits as a result. I can not agree with everything they have done since Sam died, because they have strayed from the guidelines that he maintained, which made the corporation healthy in the first place, but it is not the government's right to bleed off the earnings that belong in the stock holder's pockets. The stock holders are the ones that take the risk of investing their money, and the government is trying to take some of the profits away without contributing one damn thing.

Medicaid is nothing but a way for people, that are not really in poverty, to get free medical services. I have seen that in action myself. Since it is handled by government employees, fraud, and corruption, are bound to be running rampant through the system. One thing I saw, personally, was a person that received Medicaid, and walked out of the hospital, to his vehicle which was a tricked out Hummer, with $4k worth of spinning rims, and rode off with his $5K stereo booming so loud it was shaking the other cars on the street.
