SP - Thoughts while shaving – Olympics

1. The Italians put on one hell of a show – even the disco music and the cows.
2. The US team gets A’s and F’s as ambassadors for our country.
3. The anchor desk looked like Wall Street Week – Costas was like a precocious 9 year old – get rid of that format…and him.
4. The men’s distance speed skaters should shut up and skate.
5. Bode Miller should have given his slot to someone who deserves it.
6. The Flying Tomato was great.
7. Sasha Cohen has an iron will and great integrity.
8. The Canadian woman who won the 1500 meter gold stole my heart.
9. Ski jumping was the first extreme sport
10. It’s the marginal difference in bobsledding that makes all the difference
11. US Women Hockey lost a tough one – they are still the Olympics for me.
12. US Men aren’t.
13. The Italian 4X 12k Cross Country just rocked it.
14. The Norwegian who came from 71st place in the 30K Cross Country to a silver medal is someone to be admired.
15. Men’s and women’s GS and slalom were terrific.
16. Arakawa was serene and beautiful to watch.
17. Dick Button should just calm down.
18. NBC should have shown more athletes from other countries.
19. The skeleton (luge) competitors are truly crazy – I love them.
20. The Russian men’s gold medalist for figure skating was stellar.
21. Standing at any level on the podium is thrilling to watch.
22. Not making the podium and working hard to prepare for four years is even more impressive.
23. When the biathalon first became an Olympic sport, it must have been seen as an “extreme” sport.
24. Italians know torches and fireworks.
25. I know the curlers are in it for the partying after the matches.
26. Ice dancing is sensual
27. It must feel strange to the older athletes from Russian who had competed for the Soviet Union back when.
28. Speed skating feels like stickball in the streets.
29. I wonder what the half pipers were listening to on their iPods?
30. I never saw what the Olympic Village looked like
31. The rate of speed for the downhillers always blows me away – the replay where they showed both skiers superimposed was awesome.
32. The whole NBC presentation seemed excessive – graphics, fluff, talking.
33. It was still a thrill to watch after you weed your way through all the hype.
