Once again for you. The solution is stop paying welfare. <You have not proposed any solution. Welfare or not, people make babies which they can't care for. Biology 101. You have not addressed that at all, and seem to be oblivious. Oddly enough I noted in your response that (I assume) you are dead set against the state removing a child from a bad situation. >

How on Earth could you get from what I've written that the state shouldn't protect people and their property? That's what the state is for. It is staggering that people are so confused with swarms of government programmes for everything that moves or doesn't move, that they lose sight of the basics of government, which is protection of people and property [people being a variety of property] from attack [not from themselves - people can decide for themselves what they want to do] and enforcement of contracts. The commons is property publicly owned [such as spectrum, rivers, air quality]. That is property too, which needs protection and allocation.

If government stopped doing everything else, that would be excellent.

So, children should be protected from abuse and wanton "parents". Of course the state should protect them. Which doesn't include zygotes/foetuses which are actually part of the mother - a form of infection by another being which hijacks her DNA for its own purposes, albeit usually voluntarily on her part.

I will leave it at that. Now, a test for you. What is the solution to child abuse? Hint; it's to do with welfare payments.

<PS: So you want to replace government monetary systems with one run by the phone company? Wow! >

Once again, lack of imagination [which is normal for government bludgers]. There is a difference between "run by" and "designed by". I would not expect you to be able to figure it out. That's the trouble with you lefties. No imagination. Always hiding in and bludging off the creative and productive. You are the 10% crowd. You latch onto 10% of things [property protection and commons allocation] that governments can do and think it's a 100% solution. You can't even get in the ballpark. I usually refer to crazed statists as the 10% crowd.

I don't want to give away too much of the Quid design as you might invent it yourself.

Final test. How do you stop cruelty and murder of infants?

Mqurice

PS: I'm replying in kind, sorry if this seems rude. It's a bit of a pepped up rudeness level to match yours. Also, I don't like to use terms like "leftie" as they are ill-defined bordering on meaningless. I can't give a good definition. I just wanted to do like you and start labeling for purposes of denigration [which I hasten to add is not a racist term].
