<<What you did in Mexico is standad procedure. You give the cops money, they let you go with no paperwork and no one else involved. It's known as a "bribe". :-)>>

Went to Cabo San Lucas in '84 and things weren't exactly as advertised. No horse riding but we did find an outfitter and had a better ride than was advertised, resort boat was out of service so we went to the marina to get a boat to go fishing. A case of adopt and have fun.

As we were checking in a big guy from NYC was checking out after one week when he and his family booked two weeks. The resort was willing to drop the 2nd week charge but wanted the $10 per day for the room cleaning service they had contracted. For a lousy $70 this guy was threatening the little clerk who was following policy.

The clerk must have pushed a button because two huge cops showed up. The NYC guy started telling them he was from NYC and knew his rights, that was just before each cop grabbed an arm, twisted them behind his back and lifted him off the ground. They carried him out screaming in agony. Should have paid the $70.
