I see no inherent reason for any of us, or any Iraqi, to 'want' us Marshaling their country indefinitely. The current circumstance requires our continued diligence, but our mission should always include the desire to formulate an exit strategy. At this point we are not even clear on how to define the operation as a 'success' or as having achieved levels or success, or alternative modes of success, that would authorize our departure according to some strategy.

I see lefties hoping for some definition of failure that would occur because it would diminish Bush's ratings. I see right wingers claiming any kind of success as points for the republican party. Both of these extremist attitudes are exempliary corruption and guarantees that we all lose in the long run. I hope we can do better going forward.
