Wow, I didn't imagine having to get the dictionary out again with you. LOL, RE: "Just because they call themselves (neocons - Dan B.)doesn't mean they are."
Ahem...the dictionary defines Neocons as conservatives, whether neocons do or not.
Now you lead us to examine YOUR definition (shoulda warned us), because you seem to feel your redefinition should convince all I'm trapped in a wet paper bag, even as you again reassure us that President Eisenhower would agree, of course, with you.
How humorous you are! No? But perhaps you'll never be so able to clearly look at yourself so as to be able to laugh at yourself in this public forum. I cried for John Lennon, and have not lost that which led me to do so. Couldn't if I tried. I believe in the right to an abortion for a woman. I believe in individual choice and drug legalization. I believe in Rock & Roll. I believe in long hair on a man if he wants it, just because I know it naturally grows. I believe in gay rights. I believe in VERY small government and taxes (for both the rich and the poor alike). Unlike you and perhaps many official neocons, I don't belive in Jesus as Savior. If it pleases you then, you may insist that my "values" clearly make me a neocon, but somehow, not a conservative. Indeed, the term Liberal better describes me, IMHO.
I would observe that you seem to love labels far more than I ever will. Labels, I think, can really turn on both us and those we so label (including ourselves). So with my warning in mind, toss labels about as you have surely will for awhile. It's a free country in which
Freedom Does Work,
and eyes can see beyond written words (this would include my eyes).
Alas, you don't know me, and what little I really know about this label called Neocon tells me it is not defined as anything much akin to a belief in the righteousness of the Iraq war.
