Mr. Peter Hawley reports
Scorpio Mining Corp. has released additional assay results from continuing underground channel sampling of the walls of the eighth level development drift of the past producing Nuestra Senora mine located near Cosala in Sinaloa state, Mexico.
Peter J. Hawley, president and chief executive officer, reports: "With our new revised resource estimate completed, which was reported as an indicated resource of 1,128,000 tonnes grading 202.56 grams per tonne silver, 3.47 per cent zinc, 0.91 per cent copper, 1.44 per cent lead and 0.236 gram per tonne gold in addition to an inferred resource of 978,000 tonnes grading 229.47 grams per tonne silver, 4.07 per cent zinc, 0.92 per cent copper, 2.72 per cent lead and 0.347 gram per tonne gold (reference: SEDAR filing -- Feb. 22, 2006), the company is accelerating the underground development and resource definition drill programs. The estimate has upgraded the previous inferred resource reported in November, 2005, to the indicated category, as well as adding another one million tonnes of inferred resources. We are confident that over the next six months as development and drill programs advance, they will continue to increase the tonnage of the deposit."
