Right wingers have developed the tendency to count successful operations in the WOT as feathers in the cap of the Republican party. This is unfortunate because the reactionary left wing extremists now lay in the grass waiting for any set backs in the WOT, US Employment, our economy, healthcare, natural disaster etc. and have developed a tendency to celebrate those as some sort of points against Bush and for the Democratic party. The result is a polarized partisan consciousness for the whole country with some hoping for a government that appears to be ‘winning’ against its opponents (Including our Democrat government representatives and their supporters) and some hoping for a government that is losing its grip (Especially the Republicans who are currently achieving many of their goals in this administration). These extremist attitudes are becoming more and more the norm and guarantee that we all lose in the long run. We could be doing much better than this.
