I think the next "shocking" trend to hit the domestic enemy is going to be longtime Senators and House members finally yielding to old age and the Reaper. Since Strom Thurmond hit 102, every old politician has come to recognize that as the norm. They are in for a surprise. The newest miracles of medical technology-with more coming every day-may extend the average life to triple digits someday. But that is far further in the future than the uninitiated can imagine.
