1:14PM 4 Hynix Semicon execs to plead guilty in DRAM price-fix case (HXSCF) by Carla Mozee
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- The Department of Justice said Wednesday that four executives at Korea-based Hynix Semiconductor Inc. (HXSCF) have agreed to plead guilty and to serve time in prison in the United States for their roles in a global conspiracy to fix dynamic random access memory, or DRAM, prices. The executives will each pay a fine of $250,000 and continue to cooperate with the agency's ongoing investigation. Hynix's general manager of worldwide sales and marketing, D.S. Kim, will serve the longest jail term of 8 months. The DOJ said including today's charge, four companies and nine individuals have been charged, and fines totaling more than $731 million have resulted from the DRAM price-fixing investigation.
