Why would'nt they? If they bought IBM, it would appear to the DOJ as monopolistic. However, Apple operates on a different operating system. So, in the short term, it looks innocent enough. Bill isn't innocent! My vision, completely unfounded and probably nieve, is that Bill will buy Apple and introduce WIN 98 on both IBM and MAC platforms, then, he will begin to focus exclusively on the MAC operating system and really squeeze competitors. He will have hardware and software! This (in the long term) could create a huge monopoly! Not that I am in favor of monopolies, but I am in favor of Apple stock and it's short term potential.
