Hi Uncle; i agree it's hard pinning down GDP "quality". However, note that I compared PPP (purchase power parity) GDPs in my post, which is the closest approximation of "real" purchasing power among the various GDPs.

I used the CIA estimated Chinese PPP per capita GDP of $6,200, rather the actual GDP measured in current dollars of only $1,400. The CIA basically uses the US GDP as a base and then "upgrades" other countries' GDP accordingly to account for US fluff. Here is the CIA site:
