Right-o. We have become a nation of shallow idiots and it's finally hitting us where it really hurts...our future. The idea of community, banding together for a common purpose, helping our neighbors has all flown completely out the window. Now it's dog-eat-dog consumerism and the result is a country floating down the river without a destination, without anyone at the helm. We are becoming an also-ran country where we can't even finance our current standard of living. We are, yet again, consuming more than we earn which is a situation not seen since the Great Depression. We are in dangerous times and most people are still wondering how much they can borrow to finance their next unnecessary purchase.
