The missile sites were a touchy subject as the locals thought it would get them targeted by the Russians. At the time there was an Air Force base in Plattsburgh which was 30 miles away. we were all told we were on the Russian list.

When the state made the Adirondacks a state park many people were ticked off. SOme property was put into an area called a Blueline and couldn't be sold again.

Several farmers loaded up their dumptrucks with manure and piled it at the door of the Park Agency...........they showed the Agency what they thought of them.
