We were in the height of the Cold War then. I guess people were afraid. I seriously considered buying five acres near here on a road called "Missile Silo Road." There was no missile silo, but I downloaded some aerial photographs that clearly showed where two had been. I just checked on these and it is creepy how easy it is to find them.

I spent several weeks in Plattsburg. There is a B-47 on display there at the Air Force Base.

I stayed at a very nice rustic lodge near Ausable Falls. Have you ever been there?
