Rove may be in prison by 2008, and the new Dem congress could pass new campaign laws against smear campaigns. Plus outlaw paperless voting machines and all the other Rove dirty tricks.

A few Rove tricks in Ohio 2004 were to make sure democratic precincts didn't have nearly enough voting machines, but GOP precincts had too many. SO Dems had to wait up to 8 hours to vote, but no wait at conservative precincts. Also, black families received anonymous letters before the election telling them they were not legally registered. Those two biggies alone cost Kerry at least 40,000 votes, Hitchens says, but maybe more.

The smearvets campaign was focused on Ohio. Bush claimed it had nothing to do with his campaign, but of course it was secretly run by Rove.

Then there is the whole Diebold matter. Diebold controlled something like 800,000 Ohio votes in 2004. With no papertrail whatsoever. They could fix them any way they liked.

Other evidence in Ohio is equally alarming. Lots of smoke, so there must be fire.
