One of the (many) reasons that Bush is unpopular in the world is his absurdly simple view of reality. While the Rove Hate Machine railed (somewhat successfully) against Kerry's 'nuance', Bush's primary colors view of the world was given a pass. Such nuggets as "they hate us for our freedom" are as damaging as the Abu Ghraib images. They show a United States that is completely out of touch with any other viewpoint. I still believe the linchpin is the Israeli/Palestine conflict. Although it is too late for Bush, the next president should be active and consistent in reaching the only viable conclusion: the creation of a stable, independent Palestine state.
