12:37 INTC Intel downgraded to Below Average from Average at Caris (20.22 -0.27) -Update-

Caris downgrades INTC to Below Average from Average and they are cutting 2006-2007 estimates. The firm says their new EPS estimates are $1.08 and $1.33, respectively, for 2006-2007 but they have little confidence in them, hence are unwilling to think the market will look through the near term to focus on the longer or display much confidence that the longer is other than "challenged." For this reason, the firm recommends using Intel as a source of funds for other, much better competitively positioned chip and equipment stocks during a period they believe will prove fundamentally beneficial to the broad electronics industry.
