I once made a dog house for a new puppy we acquired. An A-frame out of (3) 4 x 4 plywood sheets, several 4' lg 2x4's and plastic waterproofed. Puppy grew to a std full-size German Shepard and the dog house lasted him till he died, 13 years old. He was like Linus in the Peanuts strip, always carried his first blanket with him everywhere; barely shreds left when he died, but no one dared tried to move it or even touch it; it was HIS!
