Politics is emotional & personal. The more one is emotionally involved in their politics, the less inclined they are to changing their POV as time & events unfold, despite facts & credible evidence contrary to their inflexible POV's

Thanks for your good reply. My experience supports the view you expressed above. Objective reality is not popular , ask Ayn Rand. Remember the Graham Greene Novel , where the old communist who had been raised a Catholic told his priest Friend not to administer last rites. He couldn't change then despite the facts and events. Same with many people in families I know. It is almost religious, and facts have no bearing. Socialism is a good idea i.e. despite having failed everywhere and being contrary to human nature and all economic theories on wealth creation. An old Jewish Friend of mine who has seen everything, been everywhere, done everything, and met everybody says - Politics, no lets not talk about it, We enjoy each other to much to ruin it all.
