True. Reciprocal trade has been a major policy debate for decades. Nothing on the table now will lead to a resolution.

All ports should be run by us. But they're not. Foreign companies have used their governments' money to buy companies like American President Lines, which had stevedore ops in the Bay area. There is no domestic provider in the picture right now for the east coast ports. They've been outbid.

So, if faced with the decision of American President Lines (Singapore) versus P&O (UAE), I choose Singapore every time.
