Hey Amigo, here ya go:

Today was the first day on the slopes this trip. Skied at Snowbird. 12 feet of base. Been there before but not my son, who was 12 today and kids 12 and under ski free at Snowbird.

Started the day by taking the huge tram to the top – like a school bus hanging on a cable. Then a double black run for the first run of the trip, wind blowing uphill. I was tired the whole day, but maybe that’s just comes from trying to keep up with the “Energizer Bunny!”

Rest of the day was easier in comparison – nice ski area, but I don’t love the place, feels a bit “corporate” and impersonal, not like those near Frisco/Dillon (that includes Breckenridge:)

We’re staying at a motel on the south side of Salt Lake City. Going go 50 miles north early in the morning to try SnowBasin, which is where the ’02 Olympic downhill was run. I hear that it is still not crowded on weekends, which is why we’re going there. Probably Brighton on Sunday, Alta on Monday and home Monday night.

Older kids are good. My daughter is coming home from USC for spring break next week and won’t see my oldest son who is working on a graduate degree at Yale until we all head to USC for my daughter’s graduation mid-May, but they both called today to wish the youngin’ a Happy Birthday.

Fun to do these father/kid trips. I don’t mind him missing a day of school since he’s flourishing there anyway and I like creating memories for/with my kids, figuring they’ll remember them a lot longer than whatever present they’d have gotten.

Hope y’all are doing well and that the market is good to me (and you) – cuz we’re taking on a heftier mortgage, but I’ve been rounding up a bunch for 3 years to pay down the principal, so the increase doesn’t feel anywhere near as brutal as it could have.

Spring’s right around the corner. Be Well!

Paul
