re: If Hector reaffirms or raises on Monday, we should rebound nicely So what does that mean really?

AMD's current guidance is "AMD expects first quarter sales to be flat to slightly down seasonally from the fourth quarter of 2005."

FLAT would be CPG revenues of $1,307M.

Do others agree that "slightly down seasonally" would be no more than a 4% drop, or CPG revenues of $1,255M?

So "reaffirm" would mean $1,255M to $1,307M.

For Intel, such a "slightly down seasonally" drop of 4% would be total revenues of $9.79B (-4%) to $10.2B ("flat"), which is above the TOP of their original guidance of $9.1B to $9.7B. In other words, Intel's original guidance was far below AMD's original guidance, presumably because of the high inventory, at least compared to AMD.

So a simple "no change" should indeed undo today's damage.

Any hint that revenues could actually rise should and would UNLEASH AMD from its current narrow trading range. Comments?
