Good grief, Carville and Matlin cannot be compared to the Doles and the Clintons.

Neither Carville nor Matlin are bound by the rules of ethics that bind Senators. No Arab Emirate would pour money into either's treasure chests because it just isn't worth it. Now, a former President whose wife is likely to be the Dem candidate for the Presidency in '08, that is a completely different thing altogether. The money spigot is wide open to them, especially to him since he is essentially I think free to do as he pleases and can contribute "his" cash to her campaign without any limits that I know about.

Neither of the Doles are current Presidential aspirants, so the money spigot is probably not quite as open to them as it is to the Clintons.

I love politics and politicos, no greater entertainment value in the world.
