US Dollar Index .. weekly chart stockcharts.com if i'm not mistaken, berk's bet against the dollar was at least partially initiated when the index value was above 100. they showed a large gain (on paper) in 2004. now, w/ this bear market rally, perhaps that paper gain has diminished by '$926 million' buffett's bets are Long term.. his bet agaist the dollar probably hasn't played itself out yet don't forget berk also bot a lot of silver years ago (to the extent that he was asked to stop buying).. and so presently that bet, which is also a vote of non-confidence re the USD, doesn't look too shabby otoh, i do not like his portfolio of insurance holdings
