Those who sold have no complaint in my opinion. Well, apparently other Palestinians do.. Because they think they reject Israel's existence, even on ground that was legitimately purchased by the Zionist immigrants. One other thing.. Understand how the Ottoman Empire was set up. Effectively all of the administrative and territorial leadership held land ONLY by grant from the Sultan. Thus, these Pashas would pass out land to those peasants who declared loyalty to them. Thus, NO ARAB had anything comparable to a "legitimate" claim on the land of Palestine because IT ALL ULTIMATELY BELONGED TO THE OTTOMAN SULTAN. Thus, it's hardly strange to see why Arab peasants, who suddenly found themselves in untitled possession of the farms that had previously "belonged" to their overseers would be interested in selling them to those "foolish Jews" who they thought would soon sell it back to them when they found they couldn't grow anything there. What percentage of Palestinian Christians voted for Hamas? I have no idea. But it's a good question. I doubt they would have voted for Hamas, though. Hawk
