Mr Robin Forshaw reports
The exploration program which has included extensive mapping and
trenching as well as drilling has resulted in the discovery of what is
believed to be the source for the mineralization in the majority of the
66 vein type occurrences on the San Jose de Gracia property. The
source zone underlies the Tres Amigos and continues up dip through
the Rudolfo, Prieta, Gossan Cap, La Union and El Salto zones and
terminates at the Dead zone, a distance of 3km.
It is thought the vein type zones are off-shoots through zones of
structural weakness in the overlying volcanics. This source zone is
apparent in holes No. 44, 45 and 47 all drilled below the Tres
Amigos vein structure, in mineralization encountered in hole No. 48
on the Rudolfo area, in outcrop on the Gossan Cap and in surface
trenches on the El Salto (Purisima).
A review of the drill holes are as follows:

DRILL FROM TO INTERCEPT AU AG ZN
HOLE (M) (M) G/T G/T %

97-43 69.0- 76.0 7.0 1.81 7.4 0.28
97-44 86.0-142.8 56.8 1.22 3.1 0.23
97-45 92.0-146.0 54.0 2.24 - 0.18
172.0-178.0 6.0 1.73 11.8 -
97-47 112.0-134.0 22.0 2.77 - 1.50
Incl 124.9-134.0 9.1 5.86 - 3.00

The most northern drill holes 97-43 and 46 appear to be at the edge
of the source zone and mineralization is very erratic.
Drilling is now focused on the Rudolfo-La Prieta area just south of
the main Tres Amigos zone. This area is considered an excellent
exploration target for both high grade and underlying bulk tonnage
potential. Surface chip samples taken in July returned encouraging
values in gold, silver, copper and zinc as well as high grade vein
assays.
The next target to be tested is the El Salto-Purisima Ridge area,
south of the Rudolfo zone. Recent trenching in this area has
indicated encouraging gold grades of 3 grams over significant
lengths. Continuous 2 metre chip samples in the first trench
averaged 2.4 g/t gold over 50 metres. A second trench of continuous
2 metre samples average 3.1 g/t gold over 26 metres. A series of 14
pits sampled averaged 2.2 g/t gold. This zone exhibits excellent
possibilities for developing large bulk tonnage reserves as part of the
overall 3 kilometre strike potential and has helped in the
development of the genetic model for the area.
