Iraq is not WW2 where we were fighting for our very survival.

Now, I'm sure I'm going to catch crap for this, but I believe Iraq is CRUCIAL to waging the war against Islamo-Fascism in the Muslim world.

A success there (fostering a nascent democratic trend in the region) would prove a DEVASTATING defeat for the Islamo-Fascists.

But pulling out of Iraq without leaving the foundation of democratic structure and accountable government there would be a DEVASTATING defeat for us.

The eyes of every moderate muslim who is looking to throw off the bonds of Islamo-Fascist government and to find the prosperity that comes with joining the international economy are looking at what results in Iraq.

The war in Iraq is only one battlefield in the war against Islamo-Fascism. And unfortunately, the Bush administration has been VERY POOR at making that point to the American people.

In fact, I give the administration an overall poor rating in the "why we fight" category. They have failed to overcome the belief that Bush deceived deliberately deceived Americans by going to war in Iraq. And they have failed to properly present the fact that Zarqawi and his henchmen represent a counter-invasion of Iraq by Islamo-Fascists. The very same ideology that visited the attack on 9/11 upon the United States.

So while one can see the short belief that Iraq is irrelevant to US national security, on a strategic scale, Iraq is critical to defeating the present threat from Islamo-Fascism.
