I don't think there's enough threat and violence in the world for those odds to last.

Heck, who listens to us now? Where is the coalition of the willing? Even after 911 we couldn't get most of the world and even a chunk of Europe to go along with us.

True that reality is largely what you make it, but the 'reality' of empire isn't going to happen. It's a few centuries too late for that.
