I agree w/ you that CF will be more expensive than FTL if you look at on a card to card basis. I think that you need to look at it on a total cost basis however. I think The controller logic is necessary for both formats. By using CF the OEM avoids having to either do the controller logic in software (slow) or hardware (fast but expensive). By using CF an OEM gets a package that already has the controller logic built in. I'm not positive but I think that the total cost to the OEM is less for CF than it is for FTL. In addition, CF will always be backwards and forwards compatible because of the controller. SNDK does have several design wins in the HPC area. JMHO Good Luck!!
