re: Reagan had picked real good advisors early in his presidency. So maybe his looming Alzheimer made him listening to their advice and follow their policy thus set without too much arguing about things he may not have understood.

Like the Iran Contra guys? But bottom line you may be right, Alzheimer's may be a good attribute of a US President.
