Hello Ron,

Sorry for so many buzzwords. Believe me when I tell you I am also a Laymen when it comes to technology. I'm a banker not an engineer and I've been hanging out with the likes of Robert; Larry; John etc for entirely too long trying to get a return in the CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) industry.

Definitions: Maybe I can enlist some engineers for help?

VoIP & FaxIP = Voice and real time fax over the internet protocal.
ATM & Frame Relay = High band width protocals for switching packets of data extremely fast so that when you and I talk over the internet our words arrive at each others destination on time (low latency) in order for us to conduct a cool conversation. Currently, bandwidth on the internet (during rush hour) is not sufficient to conduct meaningful conversation. This will change with ATM = asynchronous transfer mode and SONET = Syncronous Optical Networks. These technologies will first be embraced by corporate intranets (S&P 500 firms) where network engineers can readily partition required bandwidth for video conferencing and Voice over the data network. Probably around the year 2000 the internet backbone will be sufficiently built out to allow voice over the internet that meets QOS (quality of service) guidelines that are required by the public telephone Co's. Finally, DLGC should fair very well in this market with the DM3 (Media Processing Architecture) that is intellegent from the standpoint of CT servers knowing (where and what) other CT servers are doing on an advanced intelegent client server network (AIN).

SS7= Signaling System 7 protocal. Prior posts on this thread address this protocal in detail from Crash & David.

I hope this helps as it is not my intent to confuse people..

Happy Investing,

Jay
