That's not really to the point. The bullets have a high velocity but rifle bullets in general do. As for rate of fire, these guns are 1 shot per trigger pull, not fully automatic weapons. They have the same rate of fire as many semi-auto weapons that didn't qualify as assault weapons under the law. Certain specific models were illegal but that was useless because you could make a new model that looked and functioned almost exactly the same. Then they made weapons illegal do to criteria like having a flash suppressor or a bayonet lug.

BTW - It's not clear if this is off topic or not, or if it matters.
