I used online storage at Yahoo years ago... I stopped using it because it was unwieldy, although it was a handy way to send somebody a huge file that couldn't pass through regular e-mail, and it was handy for posting photos, too.

Later, Yahoo prototyped a client app that created a virtual drive on your PC -- you could drag and drop into the remotely mounted drive and voila.

The Yahoo client was so bad that it totally hosed my PC, though, and I had to manually edit the registry to get rid of the lil' bastard. My brother-in-law installed that little gem for me, heh heh.

I think two groups must be rubbing their hands with glee at the possibility of Google online storage for all: identity thieves; and Google, who can search all your files for whatever their privacy agreement says they can exploit.
