No, the issue is giving technology to India, a non-participant in the NPT. Bush, in essence, blew up the treaty that has been supported by every President since Nixon. A huge step backward, just at the moment we are trying to enforce the treaty.
re: Iran is an openly hostile power that used force against US civilians. The act that is usually characterized as terrorism. US should be free to bomb any Iran military facilities let alone the once that maybe used for WMD development
We are free to do whatever we want, but that doesn't mean there will not be severe consequences. A true Arab oil embargo, at this point in time, would throw the country into a very, very severe recession. It wouldn't just be about the price of oil, it would most likely be about a shortage, rationing, non-delivery of goods, emergency services...
