re: To be fair, Intel can only compare with what's in the market

It is ok to compare to what is on the market and intel did not need to overclock amd system but it was not ok how it was done.

re: BUT The rigor of the testbeds itself seems lacking.

I read somewhere that Anand was the only person who had access to 2 systems for an hour.

it is not really a 3rd party testing

re: Did Intel release the benchmark to others? Apparently not. Clue#2, Anand is handpicked

it might be against sec regulations to release info to a single source - even if it is not it is still not a clean way of doing it. The claim is that a number of manufacturers have samples and under NDA so it is not like intel did not have sufficient number of chips to distribute for proper 3rd party evaluation

re: I wonder if IBM may even acquire AMD.

I think IBM more into service now rather than hardware

re: massive and multifaceted PR campaign

no doubt about that

re: This is definitely not going to be a dull year ;-)

I am afraid it is going to get bloody. All signs are there.
