Under a multimillion-dollar agreement, Lucent will partner with Winncom Technologies to build a multi-service broadband network featuring an IP/multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) core, broadband access solutions and multimedia application platforms, fully integrated with KazakhTelecom's existing public switched telephony network (PSTN). "We are proud to work with them in creating a next-generation network capable of matching and excelling service levels available anywhere else."

Lucent is delivering a broad set of solutions and services from its Accelerate(TM) Next Generation Communications Solutions portfolio, including elements of Lucent's Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) solution.
