For sure.
I thought that the russian meeting with hamas and their recent contacts with israel to explain their motives would open the door slightly. Same with iran. But as always its hard to trust russian motives. Do they want to be the honest broker, the US cant be between hamas and israel? Or is this just a power play to ingratiate themselves with iran and arabs? I want to give the russians a little more time, before we give up.
As for Hamas, i certainly didnt think they would do a 180, but they have to offer israel some hope and they didnt. It is intersting though that the hudna continues with hamas while the israelis blow away the leaders of other terror groups and some innocents that are hanging out near the terror leaders. The old Hamas might have already joined the fray. The new pal leaders have not said a word and are probably relieved that the others are getting hit. It buys them time to run the country and thats my hope--that running the country leads to aome sanity for hamas and some response from israel.
