Why isn't Sun seeing substantial revenue increases from all this stuff? It sounds good on paper, but as this article says, these chips only run Solaris so far. One possible problem: Sun's market share decrease has shrunk the SPARC development community, so the application base is less attractive? Still, they should get some sales of server boxes based on this technology. Never mind chips that will tape out in December...the Niagra-based boxes shipping today should have had some beneficial effect already. If there's no good news in April CC, you have to wonder if there's any story left here. --QS theregister.co.uk
