For algo to succeed, it needs the collusion and cooperation of fund managers and trend-followers. Since the market is essentially flat for a couple of years, I'm puzzled that the public is still willing to feed and house the tens of thousands of fund industry functionaries. Even though they have not done a good job at generating wealth, or stewarding the companies they invest in. But as long as momentum following, analyst following, and chart following has adherents, Mr. Algo will feast very well. Every day.
