You just don't get it, do you? If an NVida graphics card can achieve a higher frame rate at the same resolution as the ATI card, then the AMD CPU is not the reason for the lower frame rate. DUH!

In case you missed it I already proved a standard 3.6GHz P4 from the Tom's review with a slower 6800GT video card and running a higher 1280x1024 resolution gives far better performance than an FX-60 with a faster 7800GTX video card and lower 800x600 resolution in the following Tech Report article.

FX-60 with better video card and lower resolution:
90.4 FPS

THG 3.6GHz P4 with worse video card and higher resolution: 136.7 FPS

THG 3.2GHz Pentium D 840 with worse video card and higher resolution: 126.8 FPS
