Hey look, I'm a white male and I understand the deep-down phobia about blacks. We white males know that most blacks are physically stronger, in general. We know that they're often angry, poor and desperate. But that's no excuse for institutional racism.

J. Edgar Hoover was paranoid enough about it to have cracked down on the Civil Rights movement, maybe even helping to kill ML King and the Kennedys. But that phobia is mostly irrational and leads to evil acts. While occasionally it has realistic aspects (during the LA Riots for instance, it did get scary), it's not something any of us should be supporting too strongly. The NRA also meddles far too much in our election process.

I have no problems with people owning guns, but I do have a problem with far rightwing radical groups amassing arsenals and spreading paranoid fantasies about Helter Skelter, murderous black looters and jack-booted liberal thugs.

I am also aware that the NRA is the front for the weapons lobby, which is no less noxious than the pollution lobby or the tobacco lobby. Their product kills, and they make fat profits off that.
