Actually,I believe that housing is in a bubble but that when it begins to fall the Fed will slow down or avoid interest rate increases ,that may be needed to hold off inflation,so as to avoid too much pain. When this becomes clear the dollar will tank. When the land around the emperial palace in Japan was worth more than all the land in California back in 1981 was that a bubble? If a house in the US cost 10X the price of a similar house in Brasil,India or the Soviet Union and service jobs are being outsourced via the internet is that a bubble? Was the collapse of the dollar around 1985 a random walk? The dollar has fallen in half against the Brasilian Real, one of the few countries to maintain high real interest rates, and I suspect that is its future against most third world currencies. This helps their costs to rise towards our with a lot less pain than the deflationary route. In a few years we may be talking on this board about buying GM stock
