S/A was removed while we were still in the midst of my project, which was a vegetation survey of 17 million acres. We had one stationary unit, and it was winter work to make the correction from data collected in the field during the summer. When we got a good signal from four satellites, we would put the receiver down and collect a log for several minutes.
