Creede, generally Snopes doesn't apply to stock DD and I don't post inspirational messages on stock forums to have a need to use DD resources of any kind to support them.
I get those stories from friends and family from time to time re:soldiers in Iraq, WTC on 911, viruses by doing [fill in the blank] and all the rest. When I read that story I did the same thing I do when I get those emails, I checked Snopes and posted the results. I'm sure it is possible they could make a mistake but, they were the most-respected site of their type when I began using them and they do state when they don't have enough information to make a determination. I guess I'll have to look for a corroborating source.
I'm not too concerned about what your preacher says, that is between him, God and his congregation, and that is a more expected forum for inspirational stories after all. My radar does perk up when a nano CEO is sending out "inspirational" messages and, consequently, I check it out. I am skeptical of such things. I tend to think of most of the nano CEO's as looking for an angle. With a growing religious base it is not unreasonable to believe that would be an attractive group for a P&D to go after.
In my haste to catch up on reading the posts I did not notice this guy belonged to one of the TF's. That doesn't get him a "free pass" if something untoward turns up later, but it does get him the benefit of the doubt on something this minor...now, if RJC over at RSHN starts sending out inspirational messages, I'll puke. |
