Andrei, the reading I have done over the last four months has
indicated to me that "x2" modems connect in the upper 40's (pass
pass excluded). Whereas "flex" used to connect in the lower 40's
and now connects in the mid-40's.

"We have found that our customers love the new x2 modems and
that these modems are simply better than K56Flex modems. Add to
this, x2 is 100 percent upgradable to the official ITU 56K
standard coming next year, and there is just no compelling reason
to support both 56K standards," said Mark Wright, president of The
Grid. "When you buy the best, you're never unhappy."
